Concerts by Gast Waltzing & Largo at the Marians Jazzroom in Bern
The Embassy of Luxembourg in Switzerland is informing that for the concerts, on 6 and 7 December 2015, at the Marians Jazzroom in Bern, due to unforeseeable circumstances, the initial band, the Ernie Hammes Quintet, had to be replaced by the best known group Gast Waltzing & Largo.
Gast Waltzing & Largo is composed by four musicians from Luxembourg: Gast Waltzing; trumpet and composer / David Laborier; guitar / Rom A. Heck; bass / Rainer Kind; drums. Their music is a powerful collection of groove driven pieces infused with elements of various music influences, masterfully weaved into a gripping contemporary sound. What makes Largo’s music unique is Gast Waltzing’s own personal vision and his highly individual take on jazz ( www.gastwaltzing-largo.com ).
Gast Waltzing has composed and produced music for over 200 Cinema Films and TV productions. He also conducts mixed events with Symphony Orchestra, Pop and Jazz solo artists and Arranges for Symphony Orchestra to artists such as Angelique Kidjo, Amy McDonald and Big Bands as George Duke and Richard Bona ( www.waltzingparke.com ).
Both concerts were a great success. They were “sold out”. The audience was composed by members of the diplomatic corps, the Swiss administration, the Luxembourg community, friends of the Embassy and members of the local Jazz & Blues Club. Ambassador Thill had the pleasure to welcome the guests at an Apéro with Luxembourg Crémant.
The concerts took place on Sunday 6 December at 5:00 pm and Monday 7 December at 7:30 pm, at the Marians Jazzroom, one of the most famous Jazz clubs in the world. Marians offers an intimate setting and a warm ambiance, which allow musicians and guests to spend together memorable concerts of the highest standards ( www.mariansjazzroom.ch ).

On December 7, it was announced that the CD “Sings", which the famous singer Angélique Kidjo from Benin has recorded with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, was nominated for the Grammy Award 2016 in the category "Best World Music Album". It was Gast Waltzing who has arranged the songs and was conducting the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, as he did already for the song “Awalole” published on Kidjo's CD "Eve", which won the Grammy in the same category in 2015.
